Library Learning Center Series Features Cape Cod Hospital Physicians
The Eldredge Public Library and Cape Cod Healthcare are pleased to present a three-week course in November as part of the library’s 2013 Learning Series. The presentations by three medical specialists from Cape Cod Hospital will occur on consecutive Tuesday mornings at 10 am at the Eldredge Public Library located on Main Street, beginning on November 5.
James Boyle, MD, a Board Certified and Fellowship trained Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Surgeon will be featured on November 5. There are 26 bones in a foot and ankle and Dr. Boyle knows how to diagnose and treat problems with them all. He will be joined by Physical Rehabilitation Director Julie Drake who will offer a tour of the new Oppenheim Medical Building in Chatham following the presentation.
Gordon Nakata, MD, a Board Certified Neurosurgeon will speak about novel treatments for managing back pain when he presents on November 12. Back pain is one of the most common and debilitating afflictions that people experience as they age and many people suffer needlessly. Dr. Nakata will explain what causes the most common types of back pain and the most up-to- date ways to treat it and regain a better quality of life.
Richard Zelman, MD, Director of Interventional Cardiology will give the final presentation on November 19. Cape Cod Hospital is first in Massachusetts for surviving a heart attack: Dr. Zelman and the local EMT’s are the reasons why. Dr. Zelman will be joined by members of the Chatham Fire Department to explain why patients who have suffered a heart attack on Cape Cod have such excellent outcomes.
The $10.00 fee for the course covers all three lectures. To register for the course, or for more information, please call 508-945-5170.
