The Edwin Barbey Patient Care Pavilion project at Cape Cod Hospital (CCH) is a transformative step toward the future for Cape Cod Healthcare, which will redefine cancer and clinical care on the Cape. The project features the addition of a new hospital pavilion, redevelopment of the campus, including improved infrastructure, improved traffic circulation with additional parking, and expansion of the surgical suite within the current hospital footprint.

The first two floors of the pavilion will house the Davenport-Mugar Cancer Center, with the first floor offering the most advanced radiation oncology treatments and the second floor providing 36 private, spacious infusion bays and medical oncology exam rooms.

The third floor will include a unit dedicated to cardiac care for patients with heart-related procedures, as well as those recovering from interventional and surgical procedures in 32 private patient rooms.

The new pavilion will provide needed expansion of our critical care service with the addition of four more critical care beds. These additional beds will provide greater capacity for our most acutely ill patients who require an intensive care setting.

Each new patient room in the pavilion will offer single-bed occupancy, promoting quiet and privacy to enhance the healing environment. The new pavilion creates a state-of-the-art facility to serve our cardiovascular patients. Comprehensive inpatient, surgical and outpatient cardiovascular programs constitute CCH’s premier service line.

The new pavilion also contemplates future growth of our medical/surgical service. Cape Cod Hospital has evolved into a regional medical center with advanced specialty care, while continuing to serve as a safety net provider.
