Kumara Sidhartha, MD, MPH, was named Chief Health Equity and Wellness Officer for Cape Cod Healthcare in May 2023. In his new role, Dr. Sidhartha is responsible for developing, implementing and managing Cape Cod Healthcare’s overarching strategy for providing equitable health.

Dr. Sidhartha has been with Cape Cod Healthcare since 2002, when he started his career in primary care at Emerald Physicians. In 2016, he was named Medical Director of Emerald Physicians under Cape Cod Healthcare, and two years later, served as the Medical Director for Cape Cod Healthcare’s Physician-Hospital Organization (PHO)/Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and as the Medical Director of the Cape Cod Healthcare Employee Health Plan. In addition, he coordinates CCHC’s biannual Continuing Medical Education series on diversity, equity and inclusion.

Dr. Sidhartha graduated from GMK Medical College in Salem, India, and completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center—affiliated with Cornell University in New York. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his Master of Public Health (MPH) in Nutrition at the School of Public Health and Department of Nutrition at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and is also certified in plant-based nutrition at Cornell University.
