Description

Pulmonary rehabilitation is an exercise and wellness program for patients with pulmonary conditions or lung cancer.

Who Needs Pulmonary Rehabilitation?

Pulmonary rehab is a medically-supervised exercise and education program designed to help individuals with COPD and lung diseases improve their breathing and symptoms; as well as increase endurance and strength. Conditions include:

  • Emphysema
  • Asthma
  • Chronic Bronchitis
  • Lung Cancer
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis
  • Pulmonary Hypertension
  • Pre and Post Lung Surgery or Transplant

Team Approach

A clinical exercise physiologist and respiratory therapist supervise the exercise sessions. To provide overall care, the staff will work closely with your referring physician and with our Medical Director, Dr. Thomas Irvine.

Requirements

A pulmonary function test (within 12 months) and a physician’s referral

Insurance Coverage

Most health insurance companies will cover all or part of the cost.

To Learn More:

Contact Deborah Quinn, RRT at 508-457-3687 or email dlquinn@capecodhealth.org. We will be happy to answer your questions and tell you more about the program.

Breathe better....live life better

Pulmonary Rehabilitation teaches patients to be in control of their own condition rather than their symptoms controlling them.

The program can not alter the underlying disease, instead you will learn how to better manage it!

Following COVID-19 guidelines and safety procedures.
