Pulmonary rehabilitation is an exercise and wellness program for patients with pulmonary conditions or lung cancer.
Who Needs Pulmonary Rehabilitation?
Pulmonary rehab is a medically-supervised exercise and education program designed to help individuals with COPD and lung diseases improve their breathing and symptoms; as well as increase endurance and strength. Conditions include:
- Emphysema
- Asthma
- Chronic Bronchitis
- Lung Cancer
- Pulmonary Fibrosis
- Pulmonary Hypertension
- Pre and Post Lung Surgery or Transplant
Team Approach
A clinical exercise physiologist and respiratory therapist supervise the exercise sessions. To provide overall care, the staff will work closely with your referring physician and with our Medical Director, Dr. Thomas Irvine.
Requirements
A pulmonary function test (within 12 months) and a physician’s referral
Insurance Coverage
Most health insurance companies will cover all or part of the cost.
