Living on Cape Cod
Not Just a Job, a Lifestyle
At Cape Cod Healthcare, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful places on earth. Here are some things we love about Cape Cod; whether we live here, or commute from “over the bridge.”
- Cape Cod juts like a 65-mile arm off the coast of Massachusetts, stretching from Bourne near the Cape Cod Canal to Provincetown at the far tip. We have 15 towns and each one has its own unique characteristics.
- The Cape Cod National Seashore stretches from Eastham to the Cape’s tip and offers 68 square miles of beaches, dunes and forests.
- We have a diverse and inclusive population, including immigrants from all over the world, members of the Wampanoag tribe, and people of all lifestyles, ages and incomes.
- Cape Cod has long embraced artists, actors, musicians, writers and the rest of the creative community. Theaters, museums, music groups, a major orchestra, and galleries will welcome you as an audience member or a participant. Get involved and learn more at Arts Foundation of Cape Cod
- In the summer, the Cape Cod population more than triples, with summer residents and tourists. While we enjoy summer’s energy, we also value the beauty of the shoulder seasons in fall and spring, and the quiet (and lower traffic volumes) of winter. But be assured, Cape Cod is open year-round with plenty of restaurants, cultural activities and sports to keep you busy. Learn more at Cape Cod Chamber.
- If you love the beach and boating, you’ll find the best of each here. But there’s more: hiking, golf, cycling, tennis, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, bowling, hunting, ice hockey, softball – the list is endless. And of course, in summer, we love watching our Cape Cod Baseball League hometown teams, featuring the premiere college players (and future MLB players) in the country.
- Our schools – public, parochial and private – include some ranked among the best in the nation. We also have higher education opportunities through Cape Cod Community College and Bridgewater State College, among others.
Boston and Providence and their international airports are only about 90 minutes away by car or scheduled bus. There also are ferries and flights to the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. And the Cape is only a few hours away by car to the New England ski slopes or the wonders of Manhattan.
There are a variety of sources that describe the value of living on Cape Cod.
