VNA of Cape Cod History
The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Cape Cod began in Falmouth in 1916 and has provided comprehensive home health and hospice services for over 100 years. Starting with one nurse on a bicycle in Woods Hole, the Falmouth Nursing Association (original name) has grown to become part of the larger organization, the VNA of Cape Cod.
The VNA now serves patients and families in Barnstable County, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. These services enable individuals—from newborns to the elderly—to receive care in the privacy and comfort of their own homes.
By providing both nursing and rehabilitation to patients, this team allows people to maintain their independence and receive excellent care.

Enjoy the unique advantages of a career with our Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod Home Care, Public Health or Hospice Teams. A visiting nurse is a care provider, teacher and advocate for clients and their families.
As a visiting nurse, you will provide compassionate care and support to your neighbors, allowing them to heal and thrive in their homes. You will also be a vital member of a collaborative team that thrives on providing community services.
Our VNA nurses not only care for friends and neighbors, but they also bring the personal touch back to patient care.
