How it Works
- Student Helpers will be assigned to departments within Cape Cod Healthcare. These departments include:
- Medical/Surgical Floors
- Emergency Department
- CVPA
- OR/PACU
- Pharmacy
- Rehab (i.e. Physical Therapy)
- Nutrition Services
- Environmental Services
- Candidates will apply into the desired departments/shifts
- Shifts will vary between 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Letter of recommendation from school (i.e. teacher, guidance counselor, etc.) required upon interview
- Once hired, the student helper will attend CCHC New Hire Orientation (held every Monday from 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.) and from there will be provided an onboarding schedule from the department they are working in.
- Student Helpers are temporary employees.
What’s Included
- On-the-job training/experience with healthcare professionals
- Opportunity to attend clinical education courses (i.e. BLS, etc.)
- Opportunity to discuss healthcare goals with leadership
- Opportunity to interview for a regular position once the temporary position has been completed.
Who Qualifies
- Must be a current High School Student; ideal candidate is entering Junior year
- Eligible to work in MA
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Ability to work independently or with others
- Possesses basic computer/keyboarding skills
