Certified Medical Assistant Certificate Program
A certified medical assistant (CMA) is a vital member of a healthcare team in various settings, including physician’s offices and outpatient care facilities. Cape Cod Healthcare, in partnership with The Community School at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, is pleased to offer a Medical Assistant Certificate Program. This course equips those seeking a career in healthcare with the knowledge and skills needed for employment as a medical assistant and to pass the Certified Medical Assistant examination from the National Healthcare Association (NHA).

How it Works
- Program duration: 10 months
- Hybrid evening classes designed to fit your existing work schedule: Classes offered two days a week for 10 months at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School (6-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays).
- Tuition cost: $3,250 (approximately). Cape Cod Healthcare will reimburse the cost of the program and associated fees, including textbooks (½ the cost of the program and fees will be reimbursed in the payroll cycle following six months of employment and the remaining costs will be reimbursed in the payroll cycle after one year of employment.)
- Classes begin September 24, 2024, and end May 22, 2025. (Registration deadline: September 12, 2024).

What’s Included
- Comprehensive training: Learn about human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology, plus practical skills in laboratory techniques, phlebotomy, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and medication administration.
- Hands-on experience: Gain practical experience with tailored clinical labs in a state-of-the-art health technology program.
- CMA Exam Preparation: Prepare to take the NHA’s Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam.
- Shadowing opportunities: Pursue options available within our Cape Cod Healthcare ambulatory clinics.
- Upon completion of the program, practice at one of 40 locations across Cape Cod in primary and specialty care.

Who Qualifies
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
