Online Second Opinion

Do you need a second opinion? Our physicians are considered to be experts in minimally invasive spinal surgery. Many of our procedures are performed as outpatient procedures. Some, including endoscopic discectomy, are performed without general anesthesia, utilizing light sedation and local anesthetic. If you are one of our international patients, this portal will be a convenient method to see if you are a candidate for one of our procedures.

Please follow this simple three-step process:

Step 1: Tell us about yourself

Fill out our form, describing your symptoms in as much detail as possible.

Step 2: Show us what is wrong

After you complete the initial form, you will be directed to our secure upload site. This page will allow you to securely transmit diagnostic images to our doctors for evaluation.

You will be able to upload diagnostic images from a CD or other data storage device. The images will be shared only with our neurosurgeons at Neurosurgeons of Cape Cod. Our team will discuss your data and determine if we will be able to help you.

Step 3: Get answers within seven business days

After we receive your request and diagnostic images, we will review your materials and formulate a treatment plan.

Once done, we will send the opinion back to you securely using the account you created to access our secure image upload site. You will be notified by email when your second opinion is ready, at which time you will be able to log in to your account and view it.

Based on our treatment advice you can request a consultation. This may occur at short notice.

You are not obligated to pursue our recommended course of treatment with us or at any other institution.

What not to expect

Our neurosurgeons will base your second opinion on your description of your symptoms, diagnostic images and radiology reports. They are able to base their opinion solely on the materials you provide.

You should not expect an in-depth and lengthy explanation of your diagnosis as you would during a face-to-face consult. Rather, our neurosurgeon will express his opinion on your diagnosis or proposed treatment and offer some brief guidance regarding what your next steps should be.

Cost

There is no fee associated with this opinion.
