Mental Health Emergency Care
If you or a loved one is experiencing a mental health crisis, including thoughts of suicide or harm to oneself or others, emergency psychiatric help is available at both the Emergency Center of Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis and the Yawkey Emergency Center at Falmouth Hospital.
Patients in acute psychiatric crisis will receive an emergency psychiatric evaluation and safety assessment with our Psychiatric Assessment Team (PAT) clinicians.
Do you need emergency care?
Emergency phone consultations are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 800-513-4728.
Emergency psychiatric evaluations and safety assessments are available at both Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital Emergency Departments for patients in acute crisis. These assessments can lead to inpatient hospitalization, discharge to the community with a safety plan and/or referrals to community-based services, such as outpatient or partial hospital programs.
Our PAT clinicians provide a first point of contact for information, advice, referrals, educational support and consultation to individuals and families facing a psychiatric crisis.
Emergency psychiatric observation service
Our team of psychiatric care providers is part of the Cape Cod Hospital Emergency Department team and a psychiatric consultation team is available at Falmouth Hospital for emergency observation services.
These professionals are available to assess, manage, and safely transition you, or a loved one in psychiatric crisis, to the next level of care.
