Cardiac Imaging
Through a variety of minimally-invasive cardiac scans, our specialists are able to view your heart and surrounding anatomy to identify irregularities that may lead to heart attacks, strokes or other forms of heart and vascular disease.
Cardiac imaging can also determine if a heart attack may have occurred and is used to monitor the heart to evaluate the progress of ongoing cardiac treatments.
The most commonly implemented types of cardiac imaging include:
These tests can be used individually or in combination to better understand your heart health. The recommended type(s) of cardiac imaging tests depends on the urgency of the problem and the specific symptoms. Your Heart Team specialist will work with you to determine the ideal testing and will explain how to prepare for your specific tests.
HeartFlow® FFRct Analysis
Cape Cod Healthcare offers an advanced, non-invasive test used to diagnose coronary artery disease (CAD).
Coronary artery disease is the most common type of heart disorder with about 1-in-20 adults aged 20 and older experiencing CAD in their lifetime according to the Centers for Disease Control. CAD develops when the coronary arteries become narrowed or blocked and cannot deliver enough oxygen-rich blood to the heart.
The HeartFlow® FFRct Analysis produces a personalized and color-coded 3D model of a patient’s coronary arteries, providing functional information about each blockage.
This personalized model provides the information needed to understand the severity of coronary artery disease, inform appropriate follow-up testing and determine the next step in developing personalized treatment plans.
HeartFlow® FFRct Analysis:
- Enables a more accurate diagnosis of CAD compared to other non-invasive tests with a less than 1% chance of missing disease.
- Is non-invasive, therefore imposing less risk than more invasive diagnostic testing.
- Provides a streamlined experience with fewer tests and outpatient visits.
- Delivers no additional radiation exposure.
