Intensive Care
When dealing with a life-threatening illness or serious injury, Cape Cod Healthcare is proud to offer a cutting-edge intensive care program, connecting you to the critical services you need most.
Both Cape Cod Hospital and Falmouth Hospital are staffed with medical professionals specially trained in intensive care medicine; providing the knowledge and sophisticated experience required to navigate sensitive and complex scenarios. And with low patient-to-staff ratios, you’ll receive the highest level of care and attention.
Our Intensive Care Services
Cape Cod Healthcare’s state-of-the-art intensive care units (ICUs) provide access to the leading critical care technology, services and monitoring equipment in the comfort of spacious, private rooms. We’re equipped to care for trauma, neuro, surgical and other patients who require a high level of treatment and close monitoring.
Specifically, in our cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU), adjoining the cardiac surgical suite at Cape Cod Hospital, cardiovascular specialists provide one-on-one patient care for patients immediately following heart surgery.
Visiting Patients in the ICU
To protect patients from infections and help speed their recovery, visiting hours in the intensive care units are limited. Plants and flowers are not allowed in the ICUs.
