Celebrating our Healthcare Heroes
The word “hero” was never in their job description and it’s not the first word that comes to mind when they come to work every day. But that’s the essence of a hero. They don’t necessarily think about themselves; they just do what needs to be done. For many at Cape Cod Healthcare this year, that has meant walking into the unknown, looking fear, bravely and compassionately, in the face, staying late and waking up early, and giving selflessly to colleagues, neighbors, family and friends. Because that’s what heroes do – they continue to step up even when the odds continue to move away from their favor.
This pandemic has shaken the ground below us and its aftermath continues to reverberate throughout our healthcare system and our community. Together, though, we know we can move beyond this terrible disease.
